U4GM Diablo 4 Poison Rogue Build Guide

If you want a Rogue that feels smooth rather than demanding, Poison Penetrating Shot is a strong pick in Diablo 4. You fire into a crowd, move on, and let the damage work in the background. The setup is especially friendly for players who dislike constant aiming. With a few useful D4 items and the right tempering choices, it can handle Helltides, material runs, and deep Pit attempts without needing a complete rebuild each time.

Why the build feels so comfortable

Poison Imbuement is the engine here, while Penetrating Shot spreads the effect across several targets. You are not chasing huge opening hits. Instead, you are building damage over time and keeping enemies inside the affected area. Attack Speed helps apply stacks more quickly, and Lucky Hit supports useful effects such as Alchemical Advantage. Damage over time, Vulnerable Damage, and Imbuement Potency deserve priority on gear and Paragon boards. Standard focus on Critical Strike Chance is far less valuable for this version.

Two ways to use Penetrating Shot

Shadow Shot suits open-world farming and quick Helltide routes. It moves faster and creates shades that add more shots, so large groups disappear with little effort. Ballista takes longer between attacks, but each cast hits much harder. That makes it the better option for difficult Pit tiers and boss encounters. A simple comparison looks like this: Shadow Shot means faster clearing and wider coverage; Ballista means slower pacing and stronger single-target pressure. Shadow Step and Concealment keep both versions mobile, provide Unstoppable, and help the resource loop stay active.

Gear choices that change the feel

Eaglehorn is the key bow because its ricochets let Penetrating Shot reach targets that would normally sit outside the line. Tibault's Will restores resource after you become Unstoppable, which makes repeated casts much easier. Fists of Fate can add a large endgame boost, while Etna's Lost Dagger rewards two forms of non-physical damage. Poison supplies one type; Shadow or Lightning on another item can activate the second. Leoric's Crown improves socketed gems, although its value depends on the rest of your equipment. For boss work, Dance of Knives is a useful temporary swap.

Season choices and practical tuning

Splinter of Hellfire suits this build because its damage increase comes without relying on critical hits, though its drawback still matters in dangerous content. Splinter of Lies is better for gold, materials, and experience runs where survival is not a concern. The Legacy of the Sightless charm can refresh Concealment through Ultimate use, while its larger set bonus strengthens attacks after stealth ends. In-Geom is handy after Elite groups fall, letting you chain movement skills. Keep resistances even across gear and Charms, especially when stepping into Torment IV. Once the setup is stable, adding cheap D4 items can help fill missing affixes without changing the build's relaxed rhythm.
