Diablo 4 Lo and Ber Rune Farming Tips from U4GM
In Diablo 4, Lo and Ber runes are easier to chase when you stop treating every activity the same. Start with a build that can burn down one target quickly, then focus your time on content with worthwhile rewards. Prime Evil Echoes are the obvious place to begin, especially Baal in the hell version of Worldstone Keep on Torment XII or higher. A strong character can also pick up the Annihilus charm while hunting premium rune drops, and a few well-planned upgrades from D4 items may help shorten each run without changing your whole playstyle.
Make the Undercity Work for You
Kurast Undercity deserves special attention because it gives you more control over the process. Before entering, open the War Plans tree and put points into Gutter Filth and Bauble Day. Gutter Filth can call in a Portal Prankster when you activate a beacon. Bauble Day turns that encounter into a path towards the Cabochon Merchant. It is easy to miss the opportunity if you rush, so activate every beacon and deal with each Portal Prankster as soon as it appears. After the district boss is down, check the merchant for runes, gems, and Prime Evil Splinters.
Spend Forgotten Souls With a Plan
The merchant can refresh for 666 Forgotten Souls, but repeated refreshes can empty your stock quickly. Do not keep rolling only for a Ber rune. Buy useful stepping stones when they appear and let the Horadric Cube do the heavy lifting.
1. Pick up Vex, Ohm, and Lo runes whenever the price makes sense.
2. Combine two Vex runes with a Flawless Emerald to make an Ohm rune.
3. Combine two Ohm runes with a Flawless Diamond for Lo, then use two Lo runes and a Grand Topaz for Ber.
Improve the Reward Pool
Use a Tribute of Harmony before opening the Undercity portal, then choose Bargain for Invocation Runes. This changes the completion rewards and gives you more opportunities to collect Invocation runes, Vex runes, and Ohm runes. Seasonal dungeons opened with Chronicle of Nightmare Sigils are worth adding to the routine as well. Their rewards can include useful gems and additional rune drops, which keeps your crafting chain moving when the merchant is unhelpful. Belial in the Sanctum of Lies is another strong target, particularly for Mythic items, Mythic Seals, and Sparks. If the fight takes too long, leave it for later and farm content your character can clear at a steady pace.
Build a Repeatable Farming Loop
A practical routine is simple: run the Undercity with the right War Plans, collect every useful merchant offer, spend your tribute carefully, and use bosses or seasonal dungeons when your materials need a boost. Track your Forgotten Souls and gems between sessions. That small habit prevents waste and makes each upgrade feel earned, while a sensible supply of D4 items cheap can help you keep the build ready for another round.
