How Mephisto Powers Diablo 4 War Plans With U4GM

The first thing to remember about Goblin's Retreat in Diablo 4 Season 15 isn't the boss. It's the walk there. Once the Curious Coin portal opens, the Path of the Coin gives your hunt for D4 items a worthwhile detour before combat resumes. Resplendent Chests line this opening stretch, carrying materials, gem fragments, splinters, gold, and equipment. Don't trust the minimap to show everything. Check corners yourself. Racing toward the arena can mean walking straight past rewards you've already done the hard work to reach.

Build around more goblin encounters

Getting inside starts with the Nightmare Dungeon War Plans tree, not aimless dungeon runs. Greed is Good gives defeated Treasure Goblins a chance to open the Curious Coin portal. Your job is to create more opportunities for that roll. Take Altar of Avarice to replace Horadric Altars with Goblin Altars, then activate them for packs of Treasure Goblins. Horadric Hunter supplies another part of the setup: defeating 25 Elites reveals a new Horadric Altar. Those nodes work together, but more attempts still aren't a guaranteed portal.

Make shrine stops count

Nemesis Bracers turn shrine activations into extra Elite encounters. That's useful when you're working toward Horadric Hunter's requirement, especially in Escalation Nightmare Dungeons or layouts with several shrines. Rather than treating shrines as quick buffs, build them into your route. Mephisto's Evil Power changes the rhythm further by giving individual Elite kills a chance to reveal an altar through Horadric Hunter. You don't have to wait for the full kill threshold for those opportunities, though you'll still need to find and activate the resulting altars.

Keep the run moving without skipping rewards

A useful farming rhythm is simple: clear Elites, visit shrines, activate altars, and chase down the goblins they summon. Don't spend so much time perfecting your route that you slow the whole run down. Once a portal appears, switch priorities. You're no longer trying to create another opening; you're collecting what's inside. That means checking the entrance corridor properly before moving into The Grand Hoard.

Include shrines in your route.
Activate the Goblin Altars you uncover.
Search beyond the minimap's chest markers.

Leave room for the treasure chest

Aurox waits in The Grand Hoard, bringing an Avarice-style moveset and enough health to make the encounter more than a quick stop. Defeat him, collect the boss drops, then deal with the large chest left in the arena. Breaking it releases another wave of Treasure Goblins, so don't leave early. For players weighing D4 items buy options against farming, this full sequence shows where the run's rewards come from. Clear the room and check for Treasure Breach Nightmare Dungeon Sigils before heading out.
