 In MLB The Show 26, a rating only means something once you know which card you're viewing. A Live Series roster OVR isn't interchangeable with a Diamond Dynasty card's OVR or attributes. The same player can fit a different role after position eligibility, Parallel XP, or a captain boost changes the picture. What the ratings say

Check boosts before you lock in the lineup

Parallel XP can raise attributes, so treat the displayed line as a live card state, not always its base. Quirks are situational too: Williams has Dead Red and Breaking Ball Hitter; Ortiz has First-Pitch Hitter and Night Player; Soto carries Table Setter alongside hitting quirks. David Ortiz's Red Sox Hitting Captain boost requires 15 Red Sox cards and adds six to contact and power against both sides. Keep it only if the required roster spots are worth it.
